Solarion achieves milestone for flexible CIGS encapsulation
Solarion AG from Leipzig, Germany, announced today the successful achievement of a crucial milestone within its internal qualification of a transparent and flexible encapsulation solution for its copper-indium-gallium-diselenide (CIGS) thin-film solar cells on plastic.
World record: 13.4 % conversion efficiency in solar cells on plastic film
A new record effi ciency of 13.4% for Copper-Indium-Gallium-Diselenide solar cells (CIGS) on a plastic substrate produced on an industrial roll-to-roll system had been recorded by Solarion AG from Leipzig, Germany. The record cells do not employ anti-refl ective coating. The result has been independently verified by the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems (ISE) in Freiburg, Germany.
Review Intersolar 2009
Solarion debuted at this year's Intersolar with its own display with many product innovations. The industry was impressed by the innovative solar solutions provided by the Solarion modules. Also impressive was our unique cell interconnection technology used for glass-glass module. Also popular at the show was the flexible and partially transparent module.
